Osteomeles schweriniae is a species of plant native to China, belonging to the family Rosaceae.
Description
DeIt is a deciduous shrub or arched semi-evergreen, native to southwest China, which can be found in western Sichuan and Yunnan.
It features clusters of small white flowers in early summer, that resemble those of species of hawthorn.
Produces small round berries white. Branches have leaves are rounded with two rows of dark green leaflets only about 6 mm in length.
The fruits are edible and can be eaten raw or used to make jellies and jams. They have a sweet taste. It is grown in gardens as an ornamental. It is also used in bonsai.
