The Fleshy Plants

The Thevetia are a genus of the family Apocynaceae (Apocynaceae). All species come from tropical America.

Description

Thevetia are shrubs, small trees or rarely lianas. The plants contain latex. The leaves are spirally arranged, not glandular, sessile or stalked. Most are between the leaf stalks to find glands.

The zymösen inflorescences are terminal, an inflorescence stem and flower stems are strong. The large, striking flowers are hermaphrodite. The cup is fünfgelappt deep, located on the inside at the base of a wide range scales.
