Trichodiadema Fashion Culture
Plants of the genus Trichodiadema belong to the family Aizoaceae. The name “Trichodiadema” comes from the Greek “thrix” (= silk) and “diadema” (= crown). They are native to South Africa (Cape Province)
Description
Small short-stemmed succulent with small sections alternating elongated 0.8 cm swollen and gray green. At the apex of the articles are born small bristles that radiate around the center and gives the appearance of an areola of cactus.
The daisy-like flowers, but with dark red petals, earning the nickname “desert rose”.
Fashion Culture
Sunny (but avoid the sun too intense) and well drained soil. Propagation by division of clumps, cuttings is very uncertain because of the risk of rot.
